After receiving the first issue of the [redesigned] Journal of Children's Literature, one of our readers, Dr. Nancy L. Roser, a Distinguished Teaching Professor at the University of Texas at Austin, wrote: "I think the journal is magnificent—so beautiful, professional, clean, readable, and smart." Nancy's description of Ash's work is right on point.

IDENTITY, TYPOGRAPHY AND TEMPLATE REDESIGN | TYPESETTING & PREPRESS
IN 2011, Dr. Jonda C. McNair (Clemson University), Miriam Martinez (University of Texas at San Antonio) and Sharon O'Neal (Texas State University-San Marcos) took over editorship of The Journal of Children's Literature. They dreamed of an updated clean look for the National Council of Teachers of English flagship publication, then on its 37th volume. I worked with the editor-trio to completely redesign the journal's identity and template system, with an emphasis on easy to read typography, clear hierarchy and smart use of single spot color printing. Since launching the redesign, I've continued working with the editors to publish eight additional volumes over the past four years. •
